The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish Fall 2014 picksThe Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish Fall 2014 picks

This October, The Body Shop launches a whole new range of nail polishes – the Colour Crush Nail Polish.  With a whopping 26 shades, there is bound to be something to please anybody and every mood or occasion!  And with the year end celebrations coming up, these are perfect for nail art and blinging your way to the festivities!

The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish collection

There is just about every color imaginable, although everything so far seems to be cream shades… though that is nothing a glitter top coat can’t fix!  What’s more important is that the entire line is 5-free (i.e. without Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), toulene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and camphor), vegan, and safe for expecting mummies!  Trust The Body Shop to have all the bases covered ‘eh?

How cute do these look as Christmas tree ornaments?!

It is impossible to make it through all 26 shades in a shot, but The Body Shop has picked out 5 “hot” shades for this Fall and I am blessed to be able to sample them!

In the interest of time, I did not swatch all 5 shades in their entirety, but mixed them up and then blinged them up some more.  Let me show you!

The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish - Red My Mind swatch

Red My Mind is a medium-dark true red that is perfectly neutral against my skin tone.  It is nicely opaque in 2 coats, and applied smoothly without streaking.

The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish - Rosy Cheeks swatch

Rosy Cheeks is a warm-ish medium salmon pink.  This felt like it was streaking when I was applying it, but it was self-balancing, and the end result is simply beautiful.  I can see alot of gals wearing this shade!

The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish - The Body Shop Green swatch

How can one turn out 26 shades, and forgot about this signature color?!  The Body Shop Green has become institutionalized with the introduction of this nail polish!  It is a dark forest green that leans slightly warm on me.  This felt somewhat sheerer to me than the other 2 before this, and needed a generous 2 coats, or 3 light coats to be completely opaque.  I had on 2 coats in the swatch above for consistency, and you can see a bit of sheerness peeking through on my 2nd finger.

The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish - Hemp Over Heels swatch

Hemp Over Heels is a medium moss green that feels warm against my skin tone.  There is quite a bit of a yellow base in that color.  Again this is another shade that would fare better with 3 coats, but on a more positive note, it applies beautifully without streaking.

The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish - Mint Cream swatch

Mint Cream is really as the name suggests, a minty turquoise that reminds me of chocolate chip mint ice cream!  I’m usually deathly afraid of such pale cream shades as they generally tend to streak horribly, but again, Mint Cream is perfectly self-levelling!  It can do with 3 coats,

I had lots of fun with the Body Shop Color Crush Nail Polish collection!  They all use the standard flat wide brushes, and dry relatively quickly once applied.  They also last a decent 3 days before showing signs of wear at the edges, which is the best I can ever get out of my nails.  They don’t dry particularly shiny, so a top coat is needed for shine.  I also wished they came with more finish options rather than all creams.  So, to jazz things up a little, I decided to add my own bling to the mix!
